A new arrangement

Just wanted to throw something out there because it crossed my mind as I was heading home from the grocery store tonight, ready to tackle this new recipe, then go home and devour the results. You know that old maxim about how to shop for healthy foods in the grocery store? It goes something like “only buy things from the outside edges and avoid the inner aisles, which are full of processed foods.” Well, our local grocery store is arranged a bit differently. In addition to fruit and veg, meat, bread and milk, the outside aisles also contain liquor and ice cream. He he. Now that’s my kind of shopping…

I think these British groceries have got it right!

My favorite sight at one of the British shops we stopped at was the generic liquor – the plain white labels with the word “WHISKEY” or “VODKA” printed on them. Good stuff!

  2. Yes, I think store-brand alcohol is hilarious. Our grocery store also sells store-brand hard cider in 2 liter bottles, very weird. I will try to get a picture to share here soon.
